Our first house didn’t have a dining room, so when we built our next house I knew that was one thing I really wanted…an actual dining room. Well, we built our current home back in 2009 and we’ve probably only used it a handful of times to actually entertain in.
That’s a lot of square footage that’s never being used. So, we decided to turn it into an office for me. But, because it’s open to the rest of the house and not enclosed I wanted it to blend with the rest of the decor in the house.
I had a vision of what I wanted for a desk and had sent many, many pics to my hubby of farmhouse style desks that I had found on Pinterest. You know, trying to send as many hints as possible! Well, he did it and I’m so in love with what he created for my dream farmhouse desk.
He found his granddaddy’s kitchen table from the early 1900’s that had been stored in one of the small barns on the family land. We’ve been trying to clean them out, but let me tell you, it’s a lot of work because things have just been thrown in these barns over the past century with no rhyme or reason.
When he was telling me about the table he was thinking about using for the desk, I honestly thought he had lost his mind. To me this table looked like something that just needed to go on to the dumpster, but I’m thankful that he had a vision for it.
I’m so in love with the finished desk. He did such an amazing job on it. I love the look of it and even more the meaning & memories that it holds for him. Now, I’m going to go work on my list of more things we need done! (Ha,ha,ha!!)
